A 4 star hotel in a house built on the site of an orphanage
church in which Antonio Vivaldi composed and played his music,
between 1703 and 1740. In the late 1800 it became "Pension
Kirsch" and among the lodgers in the year 1895 was Sigmound
Freud (Father of the Psychoanalysis). The hotel position is
superb and the view the hotel commands over the city stupendous.
Overlooking the lagoon where it meets the Grand Canal and just
3 minuts walk from St.Mark's Square. To be precise 488 meters

The Metropole with its richly suggestive atmosphere has including
suites, junior suites, 73 rooms all of them different in size
and style; one of the room won the 1st prize at the 1925 Paris
Exposition Internationale Des Arts decoratifs. All rooms are
providing contemporary comfort in an antique setting. The bedrooms
overlooks the waterfront the old venetian hotel garden, or the
side canal. Air condition, min bar, safe, satellite color tv-radio
and hairdryer are to be found in every bedroom.

The breakfast room is extremely bright and with Vivaldi's music
playing in the background, you can help yourself at the breakfast
buffet table where you can find a lovely selection of cakes,
fruit salads, cereals, italian cheeses. Do no miss to look at
the fan collection and the lovely tea pots. With lovely old
instruments collection and opera music playing in the background,
is a popular rendezvous for venetians as well as hotel guests,
serves the buffet selection of exotic and traditional dishes
and often hosts special dinners with romantic themes. During
the summer months guests may dine "al fresco" in the
venetian garden. Live music is played every night throughout
the year. You will get excellent value for money in our "Buffet
